Axanto Portal 4.1 is the first feature release after 4.0: the portal now manages assets and contracts, lists can be exported to Excel, and the change history reads like what actually happened. On top come 30 fixes from the first weeks with 4.0.
What’s new
Assets and contracts
The portal brings its own asset and contract management: a data model with lifecycle states, connected to the search. Contracts can be recorded and assigned to the assets they cover.
More new features
- Excel export for lists. Both CSV exports now produce the same file.
- Detail views by field value: a detail configuration can be assigned by the value of a field, not only by the class of the object.
- A change history you can read: one save appears as what happened, not as the rows it wrote. Customer-specific fields are shown one by one, and changes made by a person are marked as such.
- Customization Admin: a tab’s configuration can be edited directly as JSON, with find and replace. The preview in the detail editor marks hidden and inactive fields without rearranging the layout.
What else we took care of
Some of the 30 fixes are things you notice day to day: selection lists open in the right place, also near the edge of a dialog and in the Decision Flow editor. Password managers no longer overwrite field values in detail views with the user’s login name, and notifications no longer cover the Save button. An update no longer installs the configured languages twice, so notifications go out in the right language again. Workflows now also run for records changed through the legacy services.
Several fixes concern the search index: a failed write is no longer skipped silently, open activities are no longer indexed in one unbounded request, and an indexed item no longer carries the entire user list of its tenant. That makes the index smaller and indexing runs faster.
Upgrading
If you upgrade today, install Axanto Portal 4.2 directly. It contains everything from 4.1 and also fixes faults in the database update. Upgrading from 3.72 is unchanged: please plan it together with your Axanto contact and read the Upgrade Runbook in the product help beforehand.
